A big thank you to everyone who attended the West Jordan District 030 Precinct Caucus Meeting on Tuesday March 20, 2018 at West Jordan Middle School.  We had 30 people attend. We are all busy people but hopefully we can all pick some way to serve our country and our community by participating as responsible informed citizens in our political process. Many important decisions will be made in this election year.

Petition gathering is going on right now for candidates for office and for the Keep My Voice initiative. Special Election for District 43 for Utah House of Representatives

The campaign and election for our new representative in the Utah House was very interesting. There were multiple opportunities to vet the candidates. All four candidates held meetings or breakfasts for the county delegates. We had plenty of opportunities to ask questions and discuss the issues.

The election was held last night, September 14, 2017, at West Jordan City Hall. Thank you to the Salt Lake County Republican Party Officers for making the meeting convenient and efficient for us.

According to the list I received by email there were 106 delegates who could have represented their precincts and voted. There were 53 who actually showed up and were credentialed.So that is 50%. (One person left early before the final voting and that is how we ended up with a tie.) However for precinct WJD030 all six delegates who live in our precinct showed up. So we had 100% representation.Thank you for showing up and voting, Merlene, Adam, Ty, Bruce, Skip, and me.

The fact that the election was close and my own research show that all four candidates were excellent. All four represent conservative values. We are fortunate to have quality individuals who are willing to serve our community.

Congratulations to Cheryl Kinrade Brocksmith Acton who will be replacing Adam Gardiner as our representative in the Utah Legislature.

We Need to Let Our Representatives Know that We Support Them

Exposed: The Democrats' Plan of Disruption and Intimidation Democrats are planning an all out effort of mayhem and disruption to undermine the results of the 2016 elections.  They've put together a training handbook for protesters with detailed instructions to harass and intimidate. They are targeting Republican members of Congress for defeat in 2018. The UTGOP is shining a light on the Democrats' hypocrisy and we've posted their manual on our website.  We want you to know what the American people are up against.  To view the protesters' training handbook, click here.  The handbook is deceptively entitled "Indivisible", but the Democrats' plan is just the opposite - their modus operandi is dividing the American people.  The handbook bears the names of former Democrat congressional staffers, but is clearly the work of hard core agitators who have taken Alinksy's "Rules for Radicals" to new levels of disruption against the democratic process. The New York Post reports: "An Obama-tied activist group training tens of thousands of agitators to protest President Trump's policies plans to hit Republican lawmakers supporting those policies even harder this week, when they return home for the congressional recess and hold town hall meetings and other functions.   Organizing for Action, a group founded by former President Barack Obama and featured prominently on his new post-presidency website, is distributing a training manual to anti-Trump activists that advises them to bully GOP lawmakers into backing off support for repealing ObamaCare, curbing immigration from high-risk Islamic nations and building a border wall...."   This effort is a disrespectful slap in the face of the American people.   Donald Trump is the duly-elected president.  And the GOP members of our state's congressional delegation – Rob Bishop, Jason Chaffetz, Chris Stewart, and Mia Love - were all re-elected by huge margins, defeating Democrat candidates who supported Obamacare and the rest of the progressive agenda. The New York Post article continues: "These aren't typical Black Lives Matter or Occupy Wall Street marchers, but rather professionally trained organizers who go through a six-week training program similar to the training — steeped in Alinsky agitation tactics — Obama received in Chicago when he was a community organizer...." The Democrats hope to force their progressive agenda through with their tactics of intimidation, but together we can block their plan. Show your support for our Republican members of Congress - call their offices and tell them to stand strong against the Democrats.  Here are the numbers to call: Rep. Votes to End Federal Appeal of S.B. 54

Salt Lake City, UT (February 4, 2017)  

Today the Utah Republican Party State Central Committee voted to end its federal appeal of Utah State Senate Bill 54. The lower courts’ rulings have essentially given us a road map for changing our governing documents to ensure we continue effectively working with our Republican Party candidates and, in effect, minimize the impact of S.B. 54. Our State Central Committee recognizes these new opportunities and has already begun the work to ensure the Utah Republican Party and its County Parties continue to produce principled Republican candidates.

My office ensures that the financial statements for the State of Utah and its public colleges and Universities fairly represent their financial positions. We oversee the adoptions of budgets and the reporting of end-of-year financial spending for approximately 1,000 local government entities and nonprofit organizations. We monitor compliance with federal regulation of federal monies and evaluate the effectiveness of government programs.

We investigate allegations or indications of waste, fraud or abuse, or non-compliance with the law. You may have read news articles about our investigations of theft within the Mapleton Irrigation District, Kane County, and the Utah Schools for the Deaf and Blind.

Whether it's working with the Governor's office to improve the operations within a state agency or working with a county attorney to prosecute a finance director for stealing money, that just part of the job we do on your behalf.

Thousands of people lined the streets of Salt Lake City Wednesday afternoon hoping to get a glimpse of Vice Presidential Candidate, Governor Mike Pence. Due to limited capacity inside the Infinity Event Center, a second rally was held concurrently outside in support of the VP candidate. Attendees who were present for the rally inside were treated to a great line-up of special guests including; Greg Hughes, Speaker of the House who introduced Governor Pence, Don Peay, Trump For President & Utah Chairman, and General Robert Oaks who addressed the crowd. Utah Republican Party Chairman James Evans led the crowd in the Pledge of Allegiance. Governor Pence told the crowd that it's time for Republicans to come home. He expressed to the Deseret News after the rally; "That is the message we're delivering all over the country. Utah is in unique circumstances. Frankly, delivering that message here with some of the added attention Utah is getting is probably helping us get that message out across the country." James Evans, Chairman of the Utah Republican Party said Pence visited Utah "to close the deal" for Trump. Utahns are pragmatic, and they understand a vote against Trump is a vote for Hillary. I just don't think, at the end of the day, Utahns want to deliver Utah to Hillary. It was an exciting rally filled with supporters from all over the state and beyond.
