Today, Steve Nelson, an experienced felony prosecutor in the Salt Lake County
District Attorney's Office, announced his intention to seek the Republican
nomination for Salt Lake County District Attorney and released a video on his
campaign website, www.votestevenelson.com.
Steve is a graduate of West High School, Westminster College, and earned both
his Juris Doctor degree and his Ph.D in Political Science at the University of
Utah. Steve is married to his college sweetheart, Natalee, and they have four
children. Steve has worked as a felony attorney for the last decade,
prosecuting a wide range of cases including homicides, organized gang
prosecutions, domestic violence, and drug distribution. Steve is recognized
nationally for his work on child endangerment cases.
Steve
is committed to saving taxpayer money by bringing fiscal responsibility to the
District Attorney's Office. Having worked in the office for the past decade,
Steve knows what works and what needs to be changed. Steve believes in a
community-oriented approach to prosecution and will work closely with local
leaders to protect our neighborhoods and our children.
