Salt Lake County Republicans Pass Resolution about Obama's Executive Order

On November 20, 2014, at a duly called Central Committee Meeting of the Salt Lake County Republican Party, the following resolution was passed to address the recent unlawful actions of President Obama:

"While we acknowledge the need for discussion and action on the current immigration issues facing the United States of America is both timely and relevant, and we further agree that immigration and immigrants have been and continue to be a tremendous source of strength and diversity within our nation, we are opposed to the recent unilateral, unlawful and unconstitutional executive actions decreed be and imposed upon our country and its citizens by the sitting President of the United States, Barack Hussein Obama."

"Per his Executive Orders and through other actions and regulations initiated and enforced by the office of the President and his cabinet, we have witnessed a blatant disregard of existing laws and constitutional constraints, particularly with regard to matters of separation of powers and the rule of law."

"Therefore, let it be resolved, that the members and body of the Central Committee of the Salt Lake County Republican Party are on record as being opposed to this illegal, unlawful and unconstitutional suspension of existing laws of the United States through unilateral Executive Action regarding immigration by the President of the United States and this encroachment on our constitutional rights and liberties. We further resolve to notify and advise our State and Federal Representatives at all levels to oppose the enforcement of these illegal actions and to defend existing law and constitutional principles. So say we, this day, November 20, 2014."

Sincerely,

Dale Ash
