This is some information that the blog group might find interesting.
Every month the group Western Growth Coalition meets on the 3rd Monday at 4:00 p.m. at West Jordan City Hall. The group is comprised of all of the cities on the west side of the Salt Lake Valley, the Chambers of Commerce from the same areas, Legislators that represent these areas, the Jordan and Granite School Districts, business people, and any interested citizens.
On March 19 the Western Growth Coalition heard from our legislators on the 2012 session. The legislators in attendance were: Senate President Michael Waddoups, Senator Aaron Osmond, Representative Wayne Harper, Representative Ken Ivory, Representative Jim Bird, Representative Fred Cox. All of the legislators said that the 2012 session was one in which lots of work was done without too much controversy. A balanced budget was adopted, there were no tax increases, and the state's rainy day fund had $11 million added.
